4C for Good I.D.E.A.

Greetings from the Second City. Hope this finds you well.
Last week we discussed the Black Lives Matter movement and shared our support and solidarity. This week we’re taking action.
We have an ongoing initiative called 4C for Good that serves to galvanize resources throughout the company to make a positive impact on our communities. In years’ past we’ve packed meals for food banks, volunteered at animal shelters, made improvements to local parks, and more.
This year we’re focused on racial (in)justice and challenging ourselves to get uncomfortable. Each day this week we have a call to action – Educate, Listen, Think, Discuss, and Act – culminating in Friday which has been reserved for each of us to step away from work and do something meaningful.
These efforts are being led in partnership between the 4C HR team and our I.D.E.A. affinity resource group. The latter – which stands for Inclusion, Diversity, Equality, and Action – is led by Manali Hanamsagar and D’Yonna Riley from our client success team.
Earlier this week, I chatted with the two of them at the 4C Virtual Water Cooler. We talked about the idea for I.D.E.A. and how our team is getting involved through 4C for Good Week.
We also created a Google site to serve as the anchor for our activity. This was intended as an internal resource but in the spirit of community we thought we’d open it up. Feel free to reach out with suggestions for things to add and update.
To be sure, this isn’t a one and done effort. Beyond 4C for Good week, we’ll be examining how we, as a company, are embodying I.D.E.A in our recruiting process and business practices while making the necessary improvements to be the change we want to see.
We’re certainly inspired by the spirit we see around the company and BLM momentum around the world. Here’s to converting the energy to action.
